ABOUT MORADABAD

Moradabad is a city in Uttar Pradesh state of India. The city takes its name from Prince Murad Bux who was the youngest son of Emperor Shah Jahan, the emperor who commissioned Taj. It was Murad Bux who re-christened it to Moradabad from Rustom Nagar in mid 17th century. The prince was later deceived and murdered in his battle for succession with Prince Aurangzeb. The city has grown manifold since then and has firmly established itself as flourishing commercial town.

The city also known as Brass City is famous for its handcrafts. Decoratives of brass, aluminium, glass are extremely popular and charm all the visitors here. One can check out the different outlets decorated with vast range of products from a small cone to very tall vases. Being a business centre, there is not much to do and see here, other than visit fabulous showrooms.

Moradabad is one of the most important commercial towns not only in Uttar Pradesh but also in the whole of North India. In fact, Moradabad is the largest producer of Copper and its alloys in Asia and is counted among the top five Copper-stuff exporting centers in the world. The city is famous throughout the world for its subtle copper and bronze works that are exported to hundreds of countries through out the world.
